Original Winners For Men's and Women's Royal Rumble Matches Revealed

Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair were the winners of their respective Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches. However, a report from Wrestling Observer Radio revealed that WWE had two other names in mind heading into the event.

Roman Reigns and Shayna Baszler were the original winners. Both Baszler and Reigns were the last remaining Superstars of their respective Rumble matches.

The decision to go with Flair and McIntyre was made when WWE officials looked at what they have planned for WrestleMania more closely. They also felt Reigns and Baszler didn't need the win to progress their WrestleMania storylines.
