WWE will be cutting back on NXT events in Florida in 2020, according to a report by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The reason for this because the attendance in the area has dropped significantly in the last 12 months. The plan to cut back on Thursday shows as they tend to draw the weakest numbers and the overall belief is there is just simply local burnout.
In addition, there is a clash between the old and new school fans. The old school like to attend the events and riling up the heels, whilst consuming a lot of drink which upsets a lot of new school fans and when running small venues it becomes an issue that nobody enjoys.Â
Another reason is name value isn't as strong as it was a few years ago. The likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano rarely work the house shows, and the talent they do have are not big enough to advertise and draw.
There has been rumor that NXT will be hitting the road more in 2020.
