WWE Rumored To Be Bringing Back Classic Match Type

We reported yesterday, the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota is advertising a number of main event matches for the WWE TLC pay-per-view on December 15, Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley in a singles match, Roman Reigns vs. King Baron Corbin in a TLC Match, and the first-ever Women's TLC Tag Team Match with Asuka and Kairi Sane defending their WWE Women's Tag Team Titles against Charlotte Flair and Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch.

It is now being reported by Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the stipulation for Reigns vs. King Corbin might not actually be a TLC match but rather a Dog Collar Match, something WWE officials have been discussing.

The match type goes back some decades, with WWE generally favoring the strap match. In the dog collar variation, the wrestlers are connected at the neck by dog collars.

Starrcade 1983 featured Rowdy Roddy Piper vs. Greg Valentine in a dog collar match. More recently Saturn vs. Chris Jericho took part in the same match type at WCW Uncensored 1999.

We'll keep you updated if we hear more about this.
