Booker T Blasts Jordan Myles Over WWE T-Shirt Controversy & 'Uncle Tom' Comments

Booker T addressed the Jordan Myles WWE t-shirt controversy on the latest episode of his "Hall Of Fame" podcast.

He discussed how he has been involved in the creative process of all his t-shirt designs as well as addressing Myles' comments about ROH star Jay Lethal being an "Uncle Tom" which Booker says he's also been called himself in the past but doesn't think its warranted at all for Lethal.

Booker didn't mince his words which you can read below, courtesy of a transcription from WrestlingNews.co.

On The Jordan Myles T-Shirt

"I donā€™t know how this t-shirt got out without him knowing about it,ā€ Booker said. ā€œItā€™s not our job to step up and defend Jordan Myles over his t-shirt."

"a lot of negative people on social media thatā€™s looking for anything that they can possibly find to make racial. It happens all the time."

ā€œIs it a racially driven concept of a t-shirt? In 2019, I cannot think that the guys actually went into it thinking ā€˜letā€™s make a racial shirt about Jordan Myles.ā€™ A lot of people may think that but I just donā€™t think the firestorm is worth going through this. Itā€™s just not."

On Jordan Myles Venting On Twitter

"This going to social media crap is the worst thing Iā€™ve ever seen in my life. You can be working at Jack in the Box and if something happens, you want to go to social media and talk about it. Your business and your job is your business with that company. Itā€™s not for the world to come in. I donā€™t know when is the last time somebody on social media signed my check."

"I never complained to social media about any racial situation that Iā€™ve been in and Iā€™ll tell you right now if anybody knows me, anybody in this wrestling knows Booker T, they know exactly what I have gone through and how Iā€™ve handled every situation. Thereā€™s never been a racial issue that has gone over my head or that Iā€™ve swept under the rug. Every single time someone has said anything racial around me, Iā€™ve handled it."

On Jordan Myles Calling Jay Lethal Uncle Tom

"To hear this Uncle Tom crap ā€¦ Iā€™ve known Jay Lethal. Jay Lethalā€™s put in almost 20 years in this business, heā€™s no Uncle Tom. Iā€™ve heard people call me an Uncle Tom and if they do it, I wish they would do it to my face. Donā€™t do it behind those characters, donā€™t do it behind social media, donā€™t do it behind a cloak of anonymity. Do it in my face because I will show you what an Uncle Tom really looks like."

His Final Thoughts:

"social media and your business, they donā€™t go together. Thatā€™s just my opinion on that and leave my name out of this crap ā€¦ Iā€™m standing way back on this one because this could have been handled a whole lot different than itā€™s being handled. This is not a Colin Kaepernick moment. Letā€™s just get that straight, first and foremost. If anybody got something to say, Iā€™m a very easy man to find. Iā€™m at the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles, California kicking back and relaxing."
