Update On AEW Dynamite Encore Airing Against Friday's WWE SmackDown On FS1

On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that TNT running an extended special edition of this week’s AEW Dynamite on Friday was a decision that was not made at the last minute and was planned in advance. 

Meltzer noted that the reason the angle with Adam Page, PAC, Kenny Omega, and Jon Moxley was filmed after Wednesday's Dynamite was to show it later in the week, it just coincidently happened that it went head-to-head against WWE’s Friday Night SmackDown on FS1. AEW was not intentionally trying to pick a fight with WWE.

Meltzer added that FOX is very much behind WWE and their decision to air SmackDown on FS1 was known a while ago due to the World Series, they are committed to airing an edited down version of SmackDown on Sunday.
