WWE Raw Viewership In The United Kingdom Plummets To Just 3,000 Viewers

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reports that WWE ratings in the United Kingdom are not doing well at the moment, Raw on 10/21 was watched by only 3,000 viewers, there was a concern that there was some kind of computer glitch in reporting the data but that was indeed the final number.

This is also not good news considering they have just got Boxer Tyson Fury on board, a big name in the United Kingdom.

"WWE numbers have been bad, as the 10/14 Raw did 38,000 viewers, down from 48,000 for the 10/7 show that featured Tyson Fury, who is a huge name in the U.K. Smackdown on 10/18 was down to 23,000 viewers. Raw on 10/21 did 3,000 viewers. It was so bad people thought it was a computer glitch but we’re told the data was sound and people are stunned with that very rating."

Weekly WWE broadcasting in the United Kingdom airs at live 1am on Sky Sports, which is a subscription-based channel, there is no doubt the majority of the UK viewership will record the show at that hour and watch it later, but numbers have never been so low for the live viewing. It is not unheard of for Impact Wrestling or now even AEW to get higher viewership, as they air on a free to air channels, with a much wider audience reach.

Over the summer we reported that WWE and Sky are ending their 30-year broadcasting relationship at the end of 2019, WWE is moving their UK broadcasting in 2020 to BT Sport, another subscription-based channel.
