As previously reported, NJPW’s parent company Bushiroad has purchased women’s wrestling promotion STARDOM which has been a deal in discussion since the start of 2019.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio is reporting that there was a keen interest from WWE to purchase STARDOM with the goal of using their talent to help build up a women's roster when they launch a planned NXT Japan brand.

Triple H and other WWE officials met with STARDOM officials back in July.
