The news that Bruce Prichard has today been named the new Executive Director of Friday Night SmackDown, reporting directly to WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon has shocked many given this was a role given to Eric Bischoff a few weeks ago. 

PWInsider is reporting that Bischoff has not moved into a new role and has left WWE.

WWE issued the following statement to the media to confirm that Bischoff is no longer employed by the company:

"Bischoff is no longer with the company and has been replaced by Prichard."
