Original Plans For Bray Wyatt Vs. Seth Rollins Finish At WWE Hell In A Cell Revealed

Original Plans For Bray Wyatt Vs. Seth Rollins Finish At WWE Hell In A Cell Revealed

Last week's Bray Wyatt vs. Seth Rollins in Hell In A Cell match ended in controversial fashion when the booked ending of the match wasn't received well by fans inside the arena and at home.

The match ended without a clear winner when a referee stoppage was called after Seth Rollins, the Universal Champion used a sledgehammer to attack The Fiend who was buried under a pile of chairs.

Fans in the arena turned on the finish, with loud audio boos and chants for a refund and calls for AEW.

Dave Meltzer in this week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports WWE actually had another finish booked for the event, even though it would also end in a no-contest it would have panned out a little differently.

The plan would have seen Wyatt taking a Mankind-esque bump off the cell and the referee would have called for a stoppage, after the decision to end the match 'The Fiend' would have sat up, and attacked Rollins.

Meltzer added both finishes WWE had planned were those of Vince McMahon and were meant to resemble a horror movie in which the killer keeps coming back to life.

Meltzer also notes that a source told him Vince was laughing at the negative crowd backstage following the Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, some say this was actually his way of covering up his anger.
