During tonight’s live edition of WWE NXT, Adam Cole defeated Matt Riddle in the opening match to retain the NXT Championship.

Riddle earned the title opportunity on last week’s broadcast by defeating Killian Dain in a Street Fight.

Following Cole’s victory, Finn Balor made a surprise appearance and confronted Cole, announcing that Balor had officially returned to NXT.
