Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will return to the show that he built, SmackDown, this Friday on the blue brand's debut episode on the FOX Network.Â
The Rock, who coined the phrase "Layeth the SmackDown" was heavily rumored for the show already, but the news has now been confirmed by WWE.Â
The Brahma Bull won't be the only guest star in attendance, as the show will also feature legends like Kurt Angle, Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Sting and The Undertaker.Â
Not only will this week's show be SmackDown's pilot on FOX, but it will also be the 20th anniversary of the blue brand.Â
In addition to the guests, SmackDown will also host a title match between WWE Champion Brock Lesnar and Kofi Kingston, as well as a 'Loser Leaves WWE' Ladder match between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon.Â
The FOX deal was announced last year, with WWE agreeing to a partnership for a five-year deal.Â
Prior to this, SmackDown was on Tuesday nights, and aired on the USA Network from 2016 until now.Â
