Former WWE United States Champion Rusev will not be the father of Maria Kanellis' child, according to a report by the Wrestling Observer. 

Rusev, who returned to WWE TV this week after a lengthy absence, was seemingly revealed as the father of Maria's child, shortly after the former 24/7 Champion claimed that the father was Ricochet. 

Though the Bulgarian Brute batted Mike Kanellis on RAW, Rusev avoided questions about Maria, who is 20 weeks along in her pregnancy.

The new report from the Observer notes that the eventual plan is to reveal who the father is, and build to that as a mystery angle for a ratings boost.

It's unclear who the eventual father will be, but it won't be the Bulgarian Brute.
