WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg is reportedly set to return for a match against Dolph Ziggler at the upcoming Summerslam Pay Per View.Â
Goldberg, 52, last appeared at the Super Showdown event where he lost to The Undertaker in a poor performance due to the former Universal Champion receiving a concussion during the bout.
On SmackDown Live this week, Dolph Ziggler addressed the Super Showdown match in a promo against Shawn Michaels, and this will lead to a match between the Goldberg and the ShowOff according to the Wrestling Observer.
The report states that after Ziggler's comments about Michaels, Goldberg and Mick Foley recently, the former WCW star will return as a "John Wayne/badass old man movie character" to deal with the arrogant former World Champion.
Goldberg himself has said that he did not want fans to remember his career for the Super Showdown match, so this should be a suitable alternative.Â
WWE Summerslam will take place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on August 11, and will be aired live on the WWE Network.Â
