As first reported by Dave Meltzer with the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Eric Bischoff will be hands-off when it comes to SmackDown Live's creative team. Bischoff's role with the company will be maintaining relationships between WWE and Fox network executives. WWE is wanting to put Bischoff's skills of working with network executives to good use.
Bischoff often mentions on his 83 Weeks podcast that booking was never his forte and that he would often pass that job along to someone else. His role will be vastly different from Heyman, who is now Executive Director of the Red Brand.
It is also reported that Bischoff had no role in the booking for this past week's episode of SmackDown Live.
