Posted By: Damon Delmont on Jul 16, 2019
Below is a summary with quick results of tonight’s SmackDown Live:
First-ever SmackDown Live Town Hall. Superstars air their grievances to Shane McMahon. The segment ends with a sneak attack from Owens who for another week in a row, had been given the “night off”. Owens gives a Stunner to McMahon and exits the arena through the crowd.
Aleister Black vs. Cesaro. Black defeats Cesaro via pinfall after delivering a Black Mass that knocked the mouthpiece clear out of Cesaro
Charlotte Flair vs. Liv Morgan. Flair wins via Submission.
Tag Team Match between Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose (Fire and Desire) vs. Ember Moon and SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Bayley. Moon and Bayley win via pinfall.
Post-match interview with Bayley where she names Ember Moon as her next challenger for her title at Summer Slam
Cut scene to Ali sarcastically congratulating Nakamura on his IC Title victory
New Day extend Bryan and Rowan a rematch for their SDLive titles. Bryan looks to have something to say, but instead walks back and forth, in and out of the walkway, and never responds to the challenge. Samoa Joe enters the arena and suggests Kofi put his title on the line since Bryan and Rowan don’t want to use their title opportunity. Elias then makes his way out and tries to convince Kingston that he is the one that deserves the shot at the title. We then hear Randy Orton’s theme music hit, and the Viper makes his way out from behind the curtain. Randy states that it has been a while since he's had that gold around his waist. Elias notes that not everyone can have a title opportunity tonight and suggests a six-man tag match. Randy declines the offer. Kofi insults Randy’s “manhood” and that the Viper must have “gone limp”. Randy turns around and heads to the ring and the six-man tag match ensues. The team of Elias, Orton, and Joe win via pinfall after Orton delivers an RKO to Kingston and Randy pins the champ.
The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) Vs. The Iiconics for the Women’s SDLive Tag Team Titles. The Kabuki Warriors win via count-out. The Iiconics retain their titles
Apollo Crews Vs. Andrade. Crews picks up a quick win via pinfall
Main event: Kevin Owens vs Dolph Ziggler. McMahon heads to the ring along with several of the SDLive male Superstars and surrounds the ring. Owens delivers a Stunner to Ziggler but is pulled out of the ring by McMahon before he can get the three count. Owens then gives Shane his 2nd Stunner of the night and is chased out of the arena by the Superstars who surrounded the ring. SDLive ends with Shane being helped back up the ramp by Drew McIntyre and stating that Owens will pay.
