New Day star Big E has said "people like us will only get so far", in the latest development in the story of Kofi Kingston and Vince McMahon.

After being replaced at Fastlane as WWE Champion Daniel Bryan's opponent, Kingston defeated five SmackDown Superstars to earn a title match at WrestleMania 35, but lost to Bryan, who was a last-minute addition.

Taking to Twitter, Big E said he believed Superstars would be rewarded on merit, but now realizes that they will only get so far. 

This development comes as several fans have questioned whether this angle has ties to race, as the company is yet to have a fully Black WWE Champion.

Despite Kingston's setback on Tuesday, it is still believed that he will face Bryan for the title at WrestleMania.
