In an update to a previous report, Kofi Kingston is the front-runner to be announced as WWE Champion Daniel Bryan's opponent for Fastlane at tonight's SmackDown, according to Dave Meltzer.

Plans as of Monday didn't involve Kingston for Fastlane, but Kingston's recent momentum on last week's SmackDown Live and Sunday's Elimination Chamber are believed to be behind this move.

It is not currently clear if this will affect the original WWE title plans for WrestleMania. Bryan is currently rumored to face at returning Superstar, but as with all Mania plans things can change quickly.
