WWE NXT UK Women’s Championship Defended Prior To The Start Of WWE Evolution

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the WWE NXT UK Women’s Championship was defended prior to the start of tonight’s first-ever all-women’s WWE pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution.

In the match, Rhea Ripley defeated Dakota Kai to retain the championship. According to further reports from ESPN.com, the match was very fast-paced and drew a lot of energy from the crowd.

It’s also important to note that the episode of NXT UK where Ripley wins the title has not yet aired on the WWE Network, which could explain why the match did not air on the live WWE Evolution broadcast.

As previously reported, the match between Ripley and Kai was initially slated to take place on the live broadcast, but was then quietly pulled not long after.
