WWE Smackdown Live Coverage And Results (10/2)

Welcome to Smackdown Live from Portland, Oregon and the show kicks off with General Manager Paige in the ring where she addresses Samoa Joe's actions from last week callling it out of line and shows footage from last week

Back to the live arena, Paige says the Styles family is okay and police were sent to the house after the video went off the air. Joe never entered the house and charges were pressed and she made a call and the decision was that Samoa Joe should be fired but she made another call to AJ Styles

Styles said he was dropping the charges and then begged Paige not to fire Joe. Termination would be too good and then he'd disappear and Styles wouldn't be able to get his hands on Joe. Styles says he wants to hand out the punishment and Paige agreed and said this Saturday the match is on and shows footage of Styles' message

AJ Styles apologizes for not being at Smackdown but with everything going on he doesn't think he'd be able to perform tonight. This is bigger than WWE and doesn't want to do something he might regret and is at his home and will not leave until he gets confirmation that Samoa Joe is on a plane to Australia

AJ says he has four amazing kids who need him and he has to be at home before he leaves for Australia. Styles says Annie has been waking up at night looking under her bed for her Uncle Joe like he's some kind of boogie man. Styles says this will end and Joe will not come back from the land down under and he's not talking about putting Joe in a casket but burying him alive

FABULOUS TRUTH VS ANDRADE 'CIEN' ALMAS AND ZELINA VEGA

Zelina with a side headlock countered by Carmella and Zelina floors Carmella and mocks her moonwalk. Carmella with a dropkick and Zelina sends Carmella face first into the turnbuckle.

Zelina has Carmella tied up in the ropes but breaks it before the 5 count. Nearfall on Carmella and Carmella with a jawbreaker and she tags Truth in. Almas off the ropes and Truth with a flying headscissors. Running knee in the corner. Waistlock by Almas and Truth counters with one of his own.

Fabulous Truth clear the ring and we get the 7 second dance break. The crowd starts chanting "Truth TV". Almas taunts Truth as he chases Almas into the ring and Almas with a kick to Truth. Almas with n irish whip misses and goes flying over the top rope to the outside as we go to commercial

-Commercial-

We're back from break and a chop by Almas. Both men are down and the women get the tag as Carmella unloads on Zelina with clotheslines and an atomic drop. Carmella from the top turnbuckle sends Vega across the ring. Bronco Buster in the corner followed by a Flatliner for a nearfall as Almas breaks it up. Almas tells Carmella to calm down

Carmella goes for a superkick but Almas catches her leg. Truth with a right hand sends Almas to the outside. Zelina tries to surprise Carmella from behind but Carmella counters and applies the Code Of Silence for the submission

Backstage: Paige is walking and runs into Tye Dillinger who says he wants Randy Orton. Paige says technically he beat Shinsuke Nakamura by disqualification. Dillinger says he was attacked last week and it was unprovoked. Paige asks if anyone's seen Jeff Hardy since Hell In A Cell. Dillinger says he understands that but he wants Orton. Paige says Dillinger has his match tonight

We're back with The New Day in the ring and Big E welcomes everyone to the pilot episode fo New Day cooks. But first, a word from their sponsors. Kofi says they need a dose of positivity and introduces the man who is responsible for cooking all the pancakes dispersed among the WWE Universe each week and tonight he's going to share the special recipe courtesy of Mr. Bootyworth

The Bar come out and Sheamus says another week of Smackdown Live and another week of New Day coming out acting like a bunch of children. instead of preparing for their match, they're out here playing with food. Woods says this pilot is going out to Guy Fieri and The Bar is ruining it. Cesaro asks how can you ruin something that's already terrible

Sheamus says Cesaro is from Switzerland and makes great pastries. Cesaro says that's true at home they call him chef. Sheamus says he himself knows how to make some pretty good pastries and a brawl breaks out between New Day and The Bar

The Bar then turn their attention to Mr. Bootyworth. Cesaro pours the batter in his hat and Sheamus places the hat back on Bootyworth's head. Cesaro then pours the rest of the batter on him and they yell at him to get out of the ring.

RANDY ORTON VS TYE DILLINGER

Orton tries to clothesline Dillinger when he goes to the floor but Dillinger with a clothesline. Orton with a kick and European uppercuts. Dillinger with punches and chops and he clotheslines Orton over the top rope to the floor. Dillinger goes to the floor and Orton with a kick. Orton sends Dillinger into the announce table and then he goes for a backdrop driver on the announce table but Dillinger blocks it and hits a backdrop driver of his own on Orton.

Dillinger gets on the announce table and punches Orton. Orton sends Dillinger over the ringside barrier and then he kicks Dillinger and hits an IEDDT. Orton picks up the ring steps but he puts them down. Orton removes the turnbuckle pad and he puts Dillinger's finger in the turnbuckle and pulls at the finger.

The winner of the match: None

Backstage:  Shelton Benjamin is in the locker room and Miz stops by and he tells Shelton 'you're welcome'. Miz says he agrees that Shelton is overlooked. He is a world class athlete and he is the real deal. Miz put in a call and got Shelton a match against Goat Boy. Miz asks Shelton if he is going to beat Daniel Bryan.

Shelton says in a word . . . yes. Miz says he knows he will win but he says Shelton needs to do more than win. He needs to make a statement. Shelton says his statement is that he has been sitting on the bench waiting for the opportunity to show the world who he is. Daniel is unlucky candidate number one.

Backstage:  Aiden asks the production assistant if the production truck is ready. He says that what he is going to show needs to be in High Def.

We're back and Rusev and Lana come out to the ring to a loud 'Rusev Day' chant. Rusev says two weeks ago Aiden English attacked him and ended their team and friendship but then took it further when he mentioned a video of he and Lana in Milwaukee and it makes him want to tear Aiden's pale body apart and calls English to come out and show the bogus video

Aiden comes out and delivers a little back story prior to the video reveal. Lana says Aiden is stalling but he says he's merely delivering context. We see the video but then Aiden cuts it and says he's entertaining an offer from TMZ and wouldn't want to ...."cheat" on them. Lana tells Rusev it's not what he thinks. Rusev exits the ring and runs up the ramp after Aiden

Last Night: Brothers OF Destruction-Shawn Michaels/Triple H brawl

Backstage: Rusev is still looking for Aiden English and Lana asks him to let her explain there's more and Rusev says they're not doing this here.

DANIEL BRYAN VS SHELTON BENJAMIN

Shelton with an irish whip and a kneelift to Daniel. Shelton with another whip into the ropes and a kick catching Bryan in the arm. Shelton picks Bryan up on his shoulder and delivers a knee to the midsection.

Right hand by Benjamin and Bryan fighting his way out of the corner as he bounces Shelton's face off the turnbuckle. Irish whip across the ring and Shelton runs into a boot.

Benjamin back in control with a nearfall. And now a sleeperhold being applied on Daniel Bryan. Shelton with another irish whip and Benjamin puts his head down as Bryan catches him with a kick. Bryan applies the Yes Lock but Benjamin makes it to the ropes and the match spills to the outside

Shelton throwing Bryan into the barricades and the ring apron. Shelton drops Daniel on the barricade as we go to commercial

-Commercial-

We are back and Shelton is still in control as he picks Daniel up and applies a bearhug. German suplex by Benjamin and a nearfall on Bryan.

Shelton charges and Daniel with a toehold sending Benjamin into the turnbuckle. Running dropkick by Bryan and Shelton with a knee to the chest. Another german suplex.

Shelton places Daniel on the top rope and picks him up on his shoulders but Daniel with elbow strikes to the side of the head. Hurricanrana to Shelton and Bryan is in control delivering the Yes Kicks. Shelton misses with a roundhouse and Bryan connects with a kick setting up for the running dropkick. Miz jumps on the apron and Bryan shoves him off the apron to the floor as Benjamin hits Pay Dirt from behind for the three count

The winner of the match: Shelton Benjamin

Post Match: Miz attacks Daniel Bryan unloading with knee strikes to the ribs.

ASUKA VS PEYTON ROYCE

The match is joined in progress and Royce with forearms and a boot to the head. Asuka runs into a back heel kick but Asuka with a rollup for a near fall. Asuka and Peyton miss round kicks and Royce hits a Widow's Peak for a near fall. Asuka misses a missile drop kick and Peyton gets a near fall. Peyton with a reverse chin lock. Asuka with elbows and punches followed by kicks to the leg to get out of the hold. Asuka misses a running kick and Peyton with a rollup for a near fall.

Royce returns to the reverse chin lock. Asuka with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Asuka with a body scissors into an ankle lock. Billie grabs Peyton but Naomi takes out Billie. Asuka with an Asuka Lock and Peyton taps out.

We are back and WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch makes her way to the ring.

Becky says six weeks ago she stopped waiting and started taking. Since that night in Brooklyn, she has been the best thing about Smackdown. Since she ran through the entire locker room and toppled the Queen, she runs this division. It is the most relevant thing in WWE. She learned that being kind and being patient gets you nothing but stabbed in the back and treated like a fool. Not no more. She is relentless. She strikes first.

We take a look at what has happened since SummerSlam between Becky and Charlotte.

Becky asks if that was nice and she says she could watch that all day. Time and time again, she has proven that she has owned Charlotte Flair. The more they change, the more they stay the same. Where is her magazine cover? Where is the action figure with her holding the title belt? She has to see the person she beat doing media events. She will prove it is this face that belongs on the magazines and posters. If they won't do it for her, she will do it herself.

Becky says she designed a new poster for Super Show Down, and Becky reveals it.

Charlotte Flair's music plays and she makes her way to the ring.

Becky with punches to Charlotte and she kicks Charlotte. Charlotte with a spear. Charlotte with a fallaway slam through the poster and then Charlotte applies the figure four leg lock and lays down on the apron to add more pressure. Charlotte with a kick to the head.
