As seen on this week's edition of WWE SmackDown Live, The Bludgeon Brothers dropped the Smackdown Tag Team belts to The New Day due to Eric Rowan's injury.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider is reporting that had Rowan not been injured there were no plans for The Bludgeon Brothers to drop the titles anytime soon and there was a larger role for them coming out of SummerSlam, but the injury to Rowan changed all that.

Rowan will undergo surgery this week in Birmingham, Alabama and is expected to keep him out of action for a number of months.
