Vince McMahon has finally matched the net worth of Ted Turner, the former owner of World Championship Wrestling.

According to Forbes, both McMahon and Turner are worth $2.2billion, with Vince's rise in wealth being partly due to the recent increase in WWE stock value. 

Of note, Turner's wealth has maintained at $2.2bn for the last four years, whilst McMahon's has nearly doubled from $1.2bn in 2014. 

Turner and McMahon went head to head between 1995-2001, where McMahon's Monday Night RAW went head-to-head with Turners's WCW Monday Nitro, with the latter eventually losing in March 2001. 

Following the Monday Night Wars, WCW and Turner have been criticised for throwing large amounts of money at under-performing talent and storylines.
