Despite talks between WWE and Hogan progressing, WWE issued the following statement to TMZ confirming Hogan is still not under contract with the company.

“WWE applauds the work Hulk Hogan is doing with Boys & Girls Clubs of America to turn what was a negative into a positive by helping young people learn from his mistake. While he has taken many steps in the right direction since we parted ways, Hogan is not currently under contract to WWE.”

TMZ's report ended up saying that WWE was paying close attention to Hogan’s speech at the Boys and Girls Club this week when he was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame, as WWE wanted to see how Hogan would be received by the live crowd, and he ended up receiving an overwhelmingly positive response.
