WWE Superstars John Cena and Nikki Bella have announced that they are officially splitting up and ending their engagement after being together for the past six years. 

The couple released a statement to Us Weekly magazine, which reads as follows:

”While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives.”

Cena proposed to Bella at WrestleMania 33 following their victory over The Miz and Maryse in a Mixed Tag Team Match.

As of the initial reports, it is unknown why the couple chose to separate.
