- On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer commented on the recent statement put out by WWE in regards to Hulk Hogan not returning to the company. The statement read, "At this time, WWE remains committed to its decision" - That decision was to fire him a couple years ago following racist remarks he made in the leaked audio from his sex tape. Meltzer noted that while many in WWE feel it is time to bring him back, senior officials feel it is still too soon and it could damage their relationship with their sponsors and it's a risk they don't want to take.
- Brittania Wrestling Promotions announced on their Facebook page that WWE United Kingdom Champion Pete Dunne will not be appearing on their upcoming BWP Royally Rumbled event which takes place on the 27th prior to WWE's Royal Rumble event in Philadelphia. In a statement the company said, “It is with regret that we inform the BWP Faithful that Pete Dunne will no longer be attending BWP Royally Rumbled next weekend due to last minute contractual obligations to WWE. WWE have called Pete back to America ahead of their Royal Rumble event next Sunday." The move to have him pulled could mean Dunne will be an entrant in the 30-man Royal Rumble match.
