Atlanta, Georgia's legendary Georgia Dome stadium has been demolished. The stadium officially opened in 1992 and hosted several major professional wrestling events. During the Attitude Era/Monday Night Wars, Bill Goldberg defeated "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan for the World Championship Wrestling (WCW)/New World Order (nWo) World Heavyweight Championship during a memorable edition of WCW Monday Nitro in July of 1998 in front of 40,000 fans.
The Georgia Dome also hosted WWE WrestleMania 27 back in 2011, which was where The Undertaker defeated Triple H in a No Holds Barred Match in what was one of the most epic battles from Undertaker's WrestleMania Undefeated Streak. And in the main event of the show, The Miz successfully retained the WWE Championship against John Cena after interference from Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
The Georgia Dome has been replaced by the brand new Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which just opened up in August of this year.
