Jay Lethal vs. Marty Scurll Officially Announced ROH Final Battle

ROH has officially announced Jay Lethal vs. Marty Scurll for ROH Final Battle. The event is set to take place on December 15th in New York City at the Hammerstein Ballroom.

Below is the official announcement:

This year’s Final Battle is the 16th in ROH history and will be the best, ever! “The Villain” Marty Scurll was told by Ring of Honor officials that he could select any opponent he wanted for ROH’s marquee event. Scurll, who became an international star in 2017, is looking to close out the year with the biggest win of his career against the man who is known as The Franchise of ROH!

IWGP JR. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION “THE VILLAIN” MARTY SCURLL vs. JAY LETHAL

“The Villain” is in the midst of the biggest year of his career. Holding the ROH World Television Championship for the greater half of 2017, Scrull defeated opponents such as Donovan Dijak, Lio Rush, and Adam Cole on his way from elevating his stock as one of the best in the world.

But Scurll doesn’t want to be one of the best – he wants to be the best. And he wants to prove it against a man whose name is synonymous with Ring of Honor and great World Champions.

Scurll interrupted Jay Lethal on an episode of Ring of Honor Television as Lethal stated his case to be the number one contender for the Ring of Honor World Championship. As Lethal reminded fans around the world that he has the only singles win over World Champion Cody, Scurll interrupted Lethal, chastising Lethal for putting away the old, more villainous Jay Lethal in exchange for a more fan-friendly Lethal.

“The Villain” stated Lethal had lost his edge, the edge that propelled him to championships and Scurll said he wants to see that in any potential battle. Lethal wasted no time in accepting the challenge and the match is set!

The only question now is has The Villain gotten in the head of The Franchise? Is Scurll trying to get Lethal at his best but lure him into using tactics that he has put behind him? Join us to find out!
