There have been rumblings over the past few weeks about WWE officials wanting to call NXT Superstar Hideo Itami up to the main roster to join 205 Live and the Cruiserweight Division. However, The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Itami might actually be interested in leaving WWE once his current contract expires and returning back home to Japan.

As many fans are already aware, Itami achieved legendary status in Japan, particularly for the Pro Wrestling NOAH promotion, where he was a former NOAH Global Honored Crown Heavyweight Champion, as well as a multiple-time Junior Heavyweight Champion and Tag Team Champion.

If he does end up leaving WWE and going back to Japan, there's no word yet on whether he wants to return to NOAH or possibly go to New Japan Pro Wrestling or some other Japanese Puroresu promotions.
