NJPW's Wrestle Kingdom 12 was always set to be a major event, especially after the news that Kenny Omega will go up against Chris Jericho and also the much anticipated Kazuchika Okada vs Tetsuya Naito match.

Today another big match has been added to the event, Cody Rhodes vs Kota Ibushi has been announced for the Tokyo Dome on January 4th and ROH World Championship held by Cody will be on the line against Kota Ibushi.
