On tonight's edition of WWE Raw, SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan made a surprise appearance during a backstage segment with Raw General Manager Kurt Angle.
In the segment, Bryan stated that he took a risk by coming to the arena alone and that SmackDown LIVE Commissioner Shane McMahon didn't even know he was there. Bryan further stated that he had nothing to do with SmackDown LIVE's invasion of Raw last week, nor did he know that Shane intended to bring the roster to the show, and that he was equally as blindsided by the invasion as Angle was and didn't agree with what Shane did. Bryan also apologized to Angle for what happened last week, as well as for what Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon said to Angle earlier in the evening.
In response, Angle told Bryan that he would send him to the ring, but the Raw Superstars would only tear Bryan apart if he did that. Instead, he told Bryan to go back to Shane and tell him that he would be bringing his gold medal and the Raw roster to Survivor Series and that they would defeat SmackDown LIVE.
At the conclusion of the segment, Angle told Bryan to remain in his office, and when the broadcast came back from a commercial break, Bryan was seen speaking on his cell phone to someone in the dark, saying that Angle had shut the lights off in his office. Bryan then asked the person he was speaking to if they could hold on because "something's wrong." Kane then appeared in view and put his hand around Bryan's neck before appearing to chokeslam him.
