WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz attempted to announce on tonight's edition of Raw that his team at this coming Sunday night's Raw-exclusive WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders, and Chairs event would have a fifth member after The Shield stated at the beginning of the broadcast that they could defeat as many people as they could.

However, General Manager Kurt Angle attempted to tell Miz that he wouldn't be permitted to add a fifth individual to his team for the event, but Miz tried to tell Angle to make The Shield prove that they could back up their words. Angle then stated that if Miz wanted to add a fifth individual to his team for TLC, then Braun Strowman would have to defeat Roman Reigns in tonight's Steel Cage Match main event; however, if Strowman was unsuccessful, then Strowman would be removed from Miz's team at TLC, meaning that the match would go back to being The Shield vs. Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro.
