Former American Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion Otto Wanz has passed away at the age of 74.

The Austrian-born Wanz enjoyed considerable success in his wrestling career throughout the 1970's and 80's. Along with being a one-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion, he was also a four-time Catch Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion in Germany.

In recent years, WWE fans may have heard his name referenced during Kevin Owens' matches, as Owens often does the Otto Wanz Cannonball Splash.
