Pro Wrestling Illustrated Senior Writer Dan Murphy confirmed on the latest episode of The Ross Report the top 10 wrestlers for the PWI 500 ranking  (July 2016 - June 2017). For the first time in the history of the publication, a Japanese wrestler will be #1 for the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 500 wrestlers.

2. A.J. Styles
3. Kevin Owens
4. Roman Reigns
5. Kenny Omega
6. Shinsuke Nakamura
7. Dean Ambrose
8. Samoa Joe
9. Bobby Roode
10. The Miz

During the interview, Murphy stated that Omega was originally placed #7 but near the end of the process was moved in front of Nakamura and Ambrose.
