David Penzer, GFW ring announcer has today put out a tweet suggesting there appears to be a major name backstage for tonight’s tape delay Impact Wrestling. Based on recent rumors from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter there has been talk about bringing in Jim Cornette back to the company as a television character.

Cornette previously worked with TNA from 2006-2009, but during his time he became increasingly frustrated with the TNA creative team which was headed by his arch-enemy Vince Russo. Cornette was released from TNA on September 15, 2009. Now that Russo, Dixie Carter have gone there is a strong possibility he will return and might be who Penzer is alluding to. 

GFW is scheduled tape twelve weeks of television from tonight which will take them through until November.
