Chris Jericho revealed on the latest edition of his Talk Is Jericho podcast that his recent surprise SmackDown appearance wasn't planned by WWE, it just happened due to the fact he was backstage filming an episode of Southpaw Regional Wrestling and he was asked if he would have a match

"That’s actually why I’m here today, to film that show Southpaw and talk to you guys, And now I got roped into having a match."

This suggests Jericho won't be sticking around on television as the company probably hasn't factored him into any wider creative plans going forward. It's always possible though Jericho will turn up at a WWE Live Event which he does so often these days.
