Welcome to Smackdown Live and Smackdown Live comes to us this week from Cleveland. Ohio and we kick things off with championship action as newly crowned US Champion defends his title against former champion Kevin Owens

US CHAMPIONSHIP: KEVIN OWENS VS AJ STYLES

Owens and Styles lock up. Side headlock by Owens. Shoulderblock to Styles and Owens keeping Styles grounded but Styles counters into a side headlock of his own. Owens back in control. Leapfrog by Styles and Owens holds onto the ropes as Styles misses with a dropkick. Clubbing blow from Owens sends Styles to the outside and a clothesline to Styles as Smackdown goes to commercial

-Commercial-

Back from break, Owens still in control as we take a look at a replay of Owens connecting with a boot. Back to live action and Styles catches Owens with a dropkick.

Nearfall on Owens and Styles bounces Owens head off the turnbuckle. Suplex by Styles to Owens. Exchange of chops between Styles and Owens. Irish whip by Styles reversed by Owens and Owens runs into a boot. Owens avoids the phenomenal forearm as he slides to the outside but Styles goes flying over the ropes hitting a forearm to Owens. Owens sidesteps Styles sending him into the barricade

-Commercial-

Owens with a Cannonball into the barricade. Back in the ring, nearfall by Owens and a chinlock is keeping Styles grounded. Styles gets to his feet connects with an elbow to the head. Off the ropes, Owens with a back body drop to Styles.

Owens with a suplex from the apron but it's blocked by Styles. Owens manages to get the suplex and a nearfall on Styles. Punches to the back of the neck and Owens with a headlock on Styles keeping him grounded

styles in control as we return from split screen. Fireman neckbreaker by Styles to Owens. Styles looking for the Styles Clash but it's countered by Owens. Right hand from the apron by Styles. Phenomenal Forearm misses its mark but Styles rolls through and Owens connects with a superkick.

Pop up powerbomb countered by Styles who locks in the Calf Crusher. Owens with a headbutt. Another powerbomb attempt but Styles with the pele kick. Styles tries to pick Owens up for another Styles Clash. Owens looking for another pop up powerbomb. Styles rolls through locking in the Calf Crusher once more and Owens reaches the bottom rope

Superkick by Owens and a pop up powerbomb attempt but Styles rolls through again into a sunset flip for the three count

The winner of the match and still US Champion: AJ Styles

Backstage: Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan are talking with the referee and an irate Kevin Owens storms in yelling about his shoulder being up. Shane says at Summerslam Kevin Owens gets a rematch and he says he wants a referee who will do his job. Bryan tells Owens to calm down and says the referee at Summerslam will be Shane McMahon

We are back with a look at the Uso's attack on New Day on last week's Smackdown.

The Usos borrow the New Day's entrance and they make their way to the stage.

Jimmy asks who did you think it was going to be, three men who ride on tricycles or three guys who talk about their popsicles? The Usos say they welcomed the New Day to the Uso Penitentiary. They are the reason why the New Day is not here. Jey says they are three grown men blowing their own trombones. Jey says they are taking the titles and their catch phrases.

We then get a Fashion Peaks segment

SAMI ZAYN VS AIDEN ENGLISH

Aiden English with a side headlock on Sami Zayn. Irish whip by Sami and Aiden with a shoulderblock. Waistlock on Aiden but English goes to work on the wrist.

Sami with a reversal into a hammerlock transitioning into a headlock. Deep armdrags by Zayn into an armbar and English rolls Sami up for a three count

The winner of the match: Aiden English

Post Match: Maria and Mike come out and say they love each other then turn to Sami and say they love that he lost

Backstage: Becky Lynch and Naomi are ahown walking they will face Carmella and Natalya in tag team action tonight

FIRE AND GLOW VS NATALYA AND CARMELLA

Natalya and Becky lock up. Waistlock by Becky but Natalya counters into a wristlock. Hammerlock by Becky. Shot to the midsection by Natalya and Irish whip by Becky reversed by Natalya. Leg trip into a front facelock and Naomi tags in delivering a leg drop

Carmella is in now. Carmella misses with a right hand and Naomi connects with a series of kicks. Carmella with a slap and Naomi hits a dropkick and slaps Carmella.

Kick to the face by Naomi to Carmella. Kick to Natalya. Double team by Natalya and Carmella. Nearfall by Natalya and a sleeperhold locked in on Naomi. Naomi gets to her feet getting thrown across the ring. Natalya with a cheap shot to Becky and she locks in the Sharpshooter on Naomi who tries to crawl towards the ropes

Carmella tags herself in pulling Naomi to the middle of the ring and she locks in the Code Of Silence but Naomi counters into her own submission. Beck-sploder to Natalya as Carmella taps out

The winners of the match by submission: Fire And Glow

Backstage: Jinder says he doesn't care who wins tonight between John Cena and Shinsuke Nakamura because he will walk out of Summerslam WWE Champion and now he's going to his skybox to watch the match. He says everyone in front of him gets destroyed. He is WWE Champion and the reigning modern day Maharajah!

-Commercial-

CHAD GABLE VS ALEXANDER RUSEV

Waistlock by Gable but Rusev shakes him off. Gable going after the leg and Rusev backs towards the rope. Waistlock on Rusev and Rusev again nears the ropes forcing a break.

Rusev picks Gable up and throws him to the outside. Gable back in with a waistlock and Gable goes to work on the leg. Rusev with a knee to Gable and executes a suplex. Nearfall on Gable as we go to break

-Commercial-

Split screen Rusev is still in control putting the boots to Gable. Irish whip across the ring as Gable bounces off the turnbuckle. Right hand by Rusev. Bearhug on Gable. Rusev misses with a headbutt. Rusev runs into a boot. Gable looking for a backslide

We're back to full screen and Gable executes a series of belly to belly suplexes. Rusev with a headbutt. Rusev misses with a right hand and Gable executes a german suplex for a nearfall

Gable to the top rope. Rusev tries to shake him off but Gable lands on his feet sending Rusev face first into the turnbuckle. Moonsault from the top rope onto Rusev. German suplex countered by Rusev who hits his own and connects with a superkick. Rusev with a boot to the back looking for the Accolades but Gable counters with an ankle lock. Rusev kicks him out of the ring, Gable back in and Rusev goes for The Accolades once more locking it in for the submission

The winner of the match: Alexander Rusev

Post Match: Rusev says since he's come to Smackdown Live he was promised comeptition worthy of being in the ring with him and they gave him Cena. Cena may have waved his flag around at Battleground but he didn't win the match. Now, we're approaching Summerslam and he has no opponent because no one can beat him. Rusev goes to leave but Randy Orton's music hits and out comes The  Viper. Orton says Rusev's never beaten him and he's not afraid of Rusev. Rusev wanted an opponent he has one in Orton. Rusev goes to speak in his native tongue and Orton lays him out with an RKO

#1 CONTENDERS MATCH: SHINSUKE NAKAMURA VS JOHN CENA

Nakamura avoids Cena on the first attempt to lock up. Cena avoids Nakamura when they try again. They lock up and Nakamura backs Cena into the corner and leans into Cena's chest for a break. Cena with a wrist lock but Nakamura with a reversal into a side head lock. Cena with a leap frog and Nakamura wants Cena to come at him. Nakamura with a forearm and enzuigiri. Nakamura with boots in the corner.

Cena with an Irish whip but Cena misses a splash into the corner. Cena picks up Nakamura and hits a side slam for a near fall. Cena with a reverse chin lock as we go to commercial.

We are back and Nakamura blocks punches and connects with punches of his own. Cena with a punch. Nakamura with a knee and he misses a round kick but connects with an enzuigiri. Nakamura with kicks to the chest and Cena goes down. Nakamura with an Irish whip and a running knee into the corner and he puts Cena on the turnbuckles. Nakamura rolls back into the center of the ring and connects with a running knee to the midsection. Nakamura gets a near fall.

Cena with an elbow to avoid the reverse exploder. Cena with two flying shoulder tackles and a Blue Thunder Bomb. Cena sets for the Five Knuckle Shuffle but Nakamura with a cross arm breaker. Cena rolls through but Nakamura with a triangle on Cena. Cena picks up Nakamura and gets him on his shoulders but Nakamura escapes and hits a gourdbuster. Nakamura sets for Kinshasa but Cena with a drop toe hold into the STF.

Nakamura escapes and tries for the cross arm breaker but Cena with a rollup for a near fall. Cena with a clothesline that flips Nakamura. Nakamura with a running knee and he sets for Kinshasa but Cena moves and hits the Attitude Adjustment and Nakamura kicks out at two. Cena goes for another Attitude Adjustment but Nakamura counters into a guillotine. Cena gets Nakamura back on the shoulders and Cena hits the Attitude Adjustment. He rolls through for another one but Nakamura with a reverse exploder and then he hits Kinshasa for the three count.

The winner of the match: Shinsuke Nakamura

Post Match: We see Shinsuke Nakamura continue to celebrate his victory over John Cena. Baron Corbin attacks Nakamura and he punches Nakamura. Cena goes after Corbin and punches Corbin.

Corbin punches Cena and then he rearranges the announce table and ring steps. Corbin sends Cena into the ring steps. Corbin climbs the steps but Cena gets Corbin on his shoudlers and sends Corbin through the table with an Attitude Adjustment.

Cena returns to the ring and they shake hands again. Cena raises Nakamura's hand and he leaves the ring.
