This past Sunday at Genesis we got to see a new NWA World Champion crowned, as
well as the 17-month winning streak of Samoa Joe’s come to an end. What will
Kurt Angle have to say about Samoa Joe wanting a rematch? What will Sting do
after losing the World Championship by a disqualification? We will find out
the answers to this, plus more, tonight on a special Thanksgiving edition of
Impact.
A recap of the Genesis pay-per-view is aired, highlighting clips of Jim
Cornette demanding that LAX give up the titles due to their recent actions,
Sting losing control and losing his title, and Kurt Angle defeating Samoa Joe.
Abyss’s music hits to start off Impact. James Mitchell and the new World
Champion make their way to the ring as Don West announces that there has always
been the rule that a title can change hands due to a disqualification in TNA
and at Genesis, Sting went too far.
James Mitchell gets on the mic and proclaims that he is about as proud as a
father would be of his son. He tells Sting that on the inside, he is no
different than them, and at Genesis, Sting walked down a familiar path and it
was time for him to come home. A â€"we want Stingââ¬Â chant echoes throughout the
Impact Zone as Stingââ¬â¢s music hits and he charges into the ring with a baseball
bat and clears Abyss and Mitchell out of the ring.
The house lights turn on and the Sting in the ring is an imposter. The mask is
removed to reveal that it is actually Christian Cage. Cage asks if dressing
like an idiot is the only way he will be able to get his shot at the NWA World
Title. He then asks Sting a hypothetical question ââ¬â how is he going to invoke
his rematch clause against Abyss at Turning Point if he isnââ¬â¢t able to make it
there?
Stingââ¬â¢s music hits once again and we see him repelling down from the rafters
and on to the announce table. Sting says that he is not in a good mood tonight
and challenges Cage to a match. Sting then storms the ring as Cage leaves and
heads up the ramp. Christian tells Sting that he could care less about his
mood swings as he only cares about himself. He then tells Sting to put his #1
contendership on the line tonight. Sting agrees to it and announces that it
is ââ¬Å"showtime.ââ¬Â
The new Impact intro airs as Mike Tenay wishes us a happy Thanksgiving and
hypes tonightââ¬â¢s show by focusing on Sting vs. Christian Cage and if Kurt Angle
will accept Samoa Joeââ¬â¢s challenge for a rematch.
AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels head to the ring for the opening bout of the
night. Don West announces that whatever the outcome of their match is, it will
be the last time these two will be together as a tag team. Meanwhile, they cut
to the parking lot as Kurt Angle has arrived at the Impact Zone.

Match 1: AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels vs. the Naturals
The Naturals start the match off by isolating Daniels and work him over with
double team maneuvers. Chase Stevens & Andy Douglas go for a double
clothesline on Daniels, but Daniels is able to duck out of the way and the
Naturals are taken down by a flying clothesline by AJ Styles. Styles & Daniels
take the Naturals down with their tandem offense as they turn their focus
solely onto Douglas in the ring. Styles dives off the ropes with a frog splash
and Daniels follows that up with a B.M.E. to score the three count on Douglas.
Winners of the Match: AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels
After the match, Rhino runs into the ring to celebrate with Styles & Daniels,
but Styles wants no part of it. Styles leaves the ring and walks up the ramp
and yells out words to Rhino and Daniels as X Division stars, Jerry Lynn,
Sonjay Dutt and Jay Lethal, look on in confusion as to what is taking place.
We head to the announce table as Don West and Mike Tenay further hype tonightââ¬â¢s
show. They also announce that later tonight, Jim Cornette will force LAX to
relinquish the NWA Tag Team Titles as Eric Young appears behind the duo wearing
a turkey suit.
Video clips of the Voodoo Kin Mafia declaration of war are aired. VKM are in
the basement of a hotel in Stamford, Connecticut, to start ââ¬Å"Operation: Cease &
Desist.ââ¬Â They name off the accused ââ¬â Michael Hickenbottom, Paul Levesque and
Vince McMahon. Their target tonight is the WWE Headquarters. Part 2, the
Attack, is coming up.

A Turning Point promo that features Kurt Angle airs.
Jim Cornette is in the ring and demands that LAX return the Tag Team Titles to
TNA Management, but first he wants to bring out Petey Williams. Williams comes
out with an American flag in his hands as a ââ¬Å"USAââ¬Â chants starts in the crowd.
Williams states that he has some problems with America, but it was here where
he got his opportunity and that someone needed to stop LAX and that someone was
him. Cornette tells the TNA staff to lower down a bar so they can hang the
American flag above the ring and sing the National Anthem.
As the first few bars of the anthem are played, it is interrupted by the music
of LAX. Konnan, Homicide and Hernandez, along with a man in a suit, make their
way to the ring. Cornette asks them if they came out to return TNAââ¬â¢s hardware
to which Konnan responds by saying that instead of returning the titles, they
will be serving them papers from their lawyers as TNA has violated their first
amendment right and use their own system against them.
Williams goes on a one-man attack against LAX, but the numbers prove to be too
much for him to handle. LAX beat him down and drape the Mexican flag over his
body. Cornette goes to remove the flag by Konnan grabs him and corners him in
the ring.
AMW along with Gail Kim make their way to the ring, but after some brief
offense, are also taken down by LAX. Kurt Angle makes his way out to the ring
and single-handedly takes out LAX. Angle, along with Cornette, Williams, Kim
and AMW stand united in the ring as Samoa Joeââ¬â¢s music hits. Everyone, with the
exception of Kurt Angle, leave the ring as we head to a commercial break.

We return to see Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle facing each other in the ring. Samoa
Joe says that when he came to TNA he did the unthinkable and went on his
winning streak. He knew that eventually it would come to an end, and at
Genesis, he will admit that the better man had his arm raised in victory. Joe
then states that he lost to a man that has won championships wherever he has
gone and he lost to a man that is an Olympic gold medallist. What he wants to
know, though, is if Kurt Angle will give him, the fans, and himself, the
satisfaction of a rematch between the two of them.
Joe hands the microphone to Angle as the fans in the Impact Zone start an ââ¬Å"
Angleââ¬Â chant. Angle agrees to a rematch against Samoa Joe under one condition,
and that is if they watch each others backs until Turning Point. Joe smiles
and nods his head in agreement.
Part two of the VKM attack video is aired. The time is 9:47 PM and BG and Kip
are driving around Stamford looking for their target. Time skips ahead to 11:
54 PM as the two are running down the sidewalk. Kip James appears to throw
something at a building, but it wasnââ¬â¢t the target BG wanted ââ¬â instead it was a
Target department store. BG is flabbergasted and calls Kip an idiot.
Back in the Impact Zone, we see Eric Young in the crowd still wearing his
turkey suit. We then head to Jeremy Borash with the TNA Spotlight, which is
much like Genesis Central but this time with Borash. Borash hypes upcoming TNA
house shows, DVDs, and of course, Turning Point.
Robert Roode is in the ring along with Ms. Brooks. Roode states that since
everyone else are talking about rematches tonight, he wants a rematch of his
own against Eric Young, whom he lost to during the Genesis pre-show. He calls
Young, who is still standing in the crowd, an embarrassment to wrestling and
challenges him to a match right now.
- Commercial break ââ¬â
Match 2: Robert Roode vs. Eric Young
Roode starts out by attacking Young who was still in the crowd before the match
begins. Roode pulls Young from out of the crowd and throws him in the
railing. Young gets tossed into the ring and the match officially starts.
Roode works over Young with some power moves. Roode backs Young into the
corner as Young fights back with a couple of back elbows. Young tries for a
moonsault but Roode is able to move out of the way. Roode picks up Young and
sets him up for a piledriver but Young counters into a pinning attempt to get
the victory.
Winner of the Match: Eric Young by pin fall.
After the match, Roode gets on the mic and vents his frustrations to Ms.
Brooks. He tells her that he didnââ¬â¢t hire her because of her body. He says
that everyone loves Eric Young and hates him. He says that Young can cheat and
wear turkey suits and the fans cheer. He then tells her that he could probably
even beat her in a bikini contest and storms out of the ring leaving her
alone.
The Eye Spy Paparazzi Productions logo appears as we head to Kevin Nashââ¬â¢s
mandatory X Division meeting. The Paparazzi are in attendance, as well as Jay
Lethal, Sonjay Dutt and Senshi. Kevin Nash explains to them that they have to
recreate and reinvent the X Division. With that said, since college football
has the BCS, they are going to have the PCS ââ¬â Paparazzi Championship Series ââ¬â
to determine who the greatest X Division star of all time. Nash also says that
there will be testing to determine if anyone is using steroids. Sonjay Dutt
angrily objects to the testing. Senshi looks on emotionless as Lethal and Dutt
leave the room. Nash calls them juiceheads as they are walking out.
Match 3: Christian Cage vs. Sting (#1 Contender Match)
Jim Cornette joins Mike Tenay and Don West for commentary before the match. As
Christian Cage is being introduced, Sting follows him down the ramp and attacks
him from behind near the ringside area. The fight spills out into the crowd
and Sting has the upper hand as we head into the final commercial break.
- Commercial break ââ¬â
We return to see the action is finally contained within the ring. Cage takes
control of the match by taking Sting down with a flying dropkick. Jim Cornette
announces that next week, LAX will face the team of Kurt Angle & Petey Williams
for the tag team titles. Back to the action, Sting begins to hulk up and flex
his muscles at Christian. Cage, who looks unimpressed, continues his assault
on Sting but his punches have no effect.
Sting regains control by taking Christian down with a backdrop, clothesline and
a long press slam. Sting whips Cage into the corner and lands a Stinger
Splash. Sting tries for another but Cage pulls the referee in the corner and
Sting takes down the referee.
Sting tries to lock on the Scorpion Death Lock but Cage is able to get out of
it by raking Stingââ¬â¢s eyes. Cage sets up Sting for the Unprettier, but Sting
manages to counter it into a Scorpion Death Drop. With Christian down on the
canvas, Sting locks Cage in the Scorpion Death Lock.
A man in a hooded sweatshirt enters the ring and takes Sting out. The man
removes the sweatshirt and it is none other than Christianââ¬â¢s former WWE problem
solver, Tyson Tomko. Tomko takes Sting down with a fall away slam and holds
Sting in place as Christian takes it to him. Cornette says that Tomko shouldnââ¬â¢
t even be in the ring as he is not under contract with TNA. Christianââ¬â¢s music
hits as this match goes to a no contest. Cornette claims that he doesnââ¬â¢t know
what to do.
A music video recap of tonightââ¬â¢s events air. We then return to the VKM story,
as it is now 1:12 AM. BG James is frustrated, as they canââ¬â¢t even find their
car and blames it on their GPS. Kip then stops them in their tracks and points
ahead. They are standing in front of WWE Headquarters. BG says, ââ¬Å"weââ¬â¢re back,ââ¬Â
as the words ââ¬Å"to be continuedââ¬Â are written across the screen.
Quick Match Results:
- AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels defeat the Naturals by pin fall.
- Eric Young defeats Robert Roode by pin fall.
