As previously announced, WWE will hold a Women's Money in the Bank rematch on next week's edition of SmackDown LIVE due to the controversial ending of the initial match at Sunday night's SmackDown LIVE-exclusive Money in the Bank event. The ending of the match saw James Ellsworth climb the ladder and retrieve the briefcase before dropping it directly into the hands of Carmella. As a result, General Manager Daniel Bryan ruled that Carmella would be stripped of the briefcase and a rematch would be held on next week's SmackDown LIVE.

On Tuesday night's edition of Talking Smack, which aired on the WWE Network immediately after 205 Live went off the air, Bryan further informed both Carmella and Ellsworth that Ellsworth will be banned from ringside for the rematch.
