18 years ago today, Owen Hart tragically lost his life in a WWE ring at the Over the Edge pay-per-view event from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. 

Owen Hart, was scheduled to face The Godfather for the Intercontinental Championship as the Blue Blazer. The plan was for him descend from the rafters but tragically the release mechanism activated far too early. He fell a reported 78 feet to his death.

The following night on Raw, an emotional tribute was held with the entire show dedicated to the memory of Owen Hart.
