The WWE announced on tonight's latest edition of Raw (which was pre-recorded due to it taking place at the O2 in London, England) that Dean Ambrose will defend the Intercontinental Championship against The Miz on next week's broadcast. The match that was originally scheduled to take place at the upcoming Raw-exclusive Extreme Rules event, instead has been scheduled in for next week's action.
As previously reported, Miz became the number-one contender for the Intercontinental Championship after defeating Finn Balor and Seth Rollins in last week's Triple Threat match on Raw's main event. Miz picked up the victory following interference from both Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt. Samoa Joe attacked Rollins mid match, before Wyatt snatched victory out of the hands of Balor who was seconds away from being the number one contender himself, the interference of the two was enough to hand Miz the victory and the opportunity to challenge Ambrose for the belt.
Meanwhile tonight's action from London has drawn the lowest viewership of 2017, with many fans believing that the lack of storyline to be the major reason for the drop in ratings. Even the efforts of both Samoa Joe and Seth Rollin's pay per view length match were not enough to spark the UK fans. However one positive for fans was the news surrounding the Intercontinental Championship. The match-up between The Miz and Ambrose should be an interesting encounter and fans may want to check out Betway Sports for the latest odds and information.
Although tonight's show didn't attract the ratings we would of expected there was still plenty of action and plenty of interesting results over the pond in London, if you happened to miss the event check them out here.
