It was announced in a backstage segment that next week, NXT Champion Bobby Roode will find out who his next challenger will be. NXT General Manager William Regal announced a number one contenders match for next week between the recently returning Hideo Itami and the "Messiah of the Backbreaker" Roderick Strong.

Itami made his NXT TV return last night against upstart Kona Reeves in a winning effort. Hideo just recently recovered from another injury that held him out of action for several months. Itami returned to NXT TV to slap the taste out of the champions mouth last month.

Roddy Strong has not been in action as of late in NXT but we got to see another side of Strong in the mini documentary "Who is Roderick Strong?" that aired on NXT TV for the past two weeks. Roddy had a staredown with the Glorious NXT Champion last night in Regal's office.

Winner of this match between two Ring of Honor alumni will mark the first NXT title shot for either talent.
