Following his loss to Roman Reigns at Sunday night's WWE WrestleMania 33 event, The Undertaker made it clear that his 26-year career with the company was coming to an end.Â
After the match concluded and The Undertaker picked himself up off of the mat, the fans in attendance began a "Thank You Taker" chant. His music then began playing after he had put his trademark hat and trenchcoat back on, taking a moment to look out at the crowd packed into The Citrus Bowl while purple lighting surrounded the ring. He then started to leave the ring, but then stopped and turned back around. The Undertaker then took off his gloves, trenchcoat, and hat, laying each item neatly in a pile in the middle of the ring. The Undertaker then left the ring and walked over to kiss his wife, former WWE Superstar Michelle McCool, who was seated in the front row. He then made his way back up the entrance ramp, stopping only to look back at the ring one last time, then raised his arm in the air before being lowered underneath the ramp via a special platform. Once he disappeared, the bell tolled and the lights went out as the show went off the air on the WWE Network.
WWE's official Twitter page, as well as various WWE Superstars, have reacted to The Undertaker's retirement, with more reactions expected to come:
