DO NOT read this review until you have seen the show!
Iâve been chanting ROH all day in anticipation of this pay per view.
Ring of Honor was taped at Edison, NJ with the exception of the Briscoe Brothers match which was taped in Dayton, OH.
And away we goâŚ
Ringside announcers: Dave Prazak and Lenny Leonard
Dave Prazak, Lenny Leonard and Claudio Castagnoli are in the ring. Prazak welcomes the fans and reminds everyone there is a championship match between Takeshi Morishima, current ROH Champion, and Nigel McGuinness.
Leonard lets everyone know that tonight Claudio is facing Chris Hero and the match begins now. However, Larry Sweeney of Sweet ân Sour, Inc., Sara Del Rey, Bobby Dempsey and Chris Hero enter the arena. Sweeney says there will be no match between Claudio and Hero because Hero hasnât gotten the money from ROH Sweeney has demanded. Sweeney tells Claudio to hit the showers and that he is off the pay per view. Sweeney says there will be a hold out until his wrestlers get what they want.
Claudio Castagnoli is not happy with what just transpired.
RING OF HONOR PRESENTS
UNDENIABLE
In the ring are members of Age of the Fall: Tyler Black, Necro Butcher, Wife Beater, Tyler Black, Lacy and Jimmy Jacobs. Jacobs has the mic. Jacobs wants everyone to know why they are here. Age of the Fall is a revolution and they are there to spread their message. They have targeted the Briscoes and their tag team championship. Since Age of the Fall attacked the Briscoes, the Briscoes will not be in the arena in Edison, NJ tonight. ROH management has informed Age of the Fall they will not be considered contenders for the tag team belts until they have proven themselves by beating other tag teams in ROH.
A little more talk than I prefer but then Jacobs issues a challenge to any tag team in the back to face them in the ring.
Enter the Vulture Squad: Jack Evans, Ruckus and Jigsaw with Julius Smokes

Lacy and Julius Smokes are at ringside. Necro Butcher and Jigsaw fight their way up the ramp, through the curtains and into the back and out of sight. During the match, Prazak informs the audience the reason the Briscoe Brothers will be working out of Dayton, OH tonight is to keep Age of the Fall and the Briscoe Brothers separated. I was surprised that Lacy wasnât more vocal than she was during this match up. Evans taps out to Jacobsâ submission hold.

Nice opening match with high flying tag team action. Black and Jacobs work well together as a tag team. Evans is always impressive with his athletic ability and the reaction he gets from the fans. Ruckus took some hard knocks in this match but his in ring performance was good. There wasnât enough camera time for Butcher or Jigsaw for me to tell how they work the ring.
Morishima is backstage in the locker room and the cameraman appears. Morishima responds by throwing a chair. The cameraman responds by retreating.
Nice promo highlighting the wrestling talent of Erick Stevens who has been with ROH for almost a year.
Sweeney is in the ring with a mic and he says the hold out is still ongoing for Sweet ân Sour, Inc., members, however they have come to an agreement to have a contestant in the first ever womenâs match on an ROH pay per view.
Womenâs Match
Sara Del Rey
Accompanied to the ring by Larry Sweeney, Chris Hero and Bobby Dempsey
Vs.
Daizee Haze
I like women in the wrestling ring as long as they know what they are doing. Both of these women are fantastic wrestlers and even with the size difference, Haze did a spectacular job in this match. In the middle of the match, Claudio shows up and takes down Dempsey and goes after Sweeney. Claudio is cut off by Hero who drops Claudio to the floor outside the ring.
Winner
Daizee Haze
Time: 4 minutes
Great womenâs match with impressive moves and fast paced action.
After the match, the lights in the arena go out. The American Dragon Bryan Danielson enters. Danielson is looking for Morishima and a title shot. Danielson verbally puts down Sweeney and his group. Danielson wants Sweeneyâs âbest athlete in wrestlingâ in the ring so that Danielson can prove that Chris Hero is not the best. The American Dragon
Bryan Danielson
Vs.
Chris Hero
Accompanied by Larry Sweeney, Sara Del Rey, and Bobby Dempsey
Prazak concluces that Hero is afraid of Claudio and that is why he refuses to get in the ring with him. Hero will, however, get in the ring with Danielson. During the match, Prazak informs the audience that Claudio Castagnoli has been removed from the building and taken to a local medical facility. Not bad for an impromptu match. Hero may look and act like a goof but he does have talent. Danielson is very talented and he never messes around when he gets in the ring. Win by referee stoppage.
Winner
Bryan Danielson
Time: 11 minutes
Iâm not sure Iâve ever heard of a wrestler winning a match by referee stoppage.
Adam Pearce is in the ring with a mic âÂ" itâÂÂs hard to find Pearce without a mic. Pearce calls out Kevin Steen. Pearce makes an attempt to recruit Steen into his stable, known as the Hangman Three. Pearce wants to make it the Hangman Four. DonâÂÂt laugh - itâÂÂs nice to know Pearce can at least count to four! Steen is not interested and when the Hangman three bring out a beaten El Generico, Steen decides to stick with his friend. Steen goes after the Hangman Three in the ring, but heâÂÂs a little outnumbered. To the rescue is Delirious who helps clear the ring and delivers a little speech in front of the mic. I didnâÂÂt understand a word of the rant but then neither did Steen. Steen calls for a six-man tag match and itâÂÂs on!

Kevin Steen

Delirious
WeâÂÂre getting a lot of impromptu action in the course of this program. IâÂÂm not complaining about the matches since all of them have been good thus far. BJ has cut his hair and dyed it blonde! ItâÂÂs a noticeable change. For those that may not have known, Pearce, Whitmer and Albright stapled Deliriousâ mask to his face. The more I see Kevin Steen in the ring, the more I like him. He is not a small guy but he does some high-risk moves you would never expect from someone his size.

Thjs was a decent match with a lot of action both in and out of the ring.
Nigel McGuinness is in the locker room getting ready for his match tonight against Morishima.
Recap of the feud between Austin Aries and Roderick Strong that culminates in the match tonight.
Roderick Strong
No Remorse Corps
Vs.
Austin Aries
Aries is the audience favorite but Strong doesnâÂÂt seem to care what the fans think. The two wrestlers who were once friends work inside the ring and outside on the floor.
Winner
Austin Aries
Time: 20 minutes
ItâÂÂs a good thing IâÂÂm typing and not trying to talk after this match. Everyone who knows me understands that I am a big Austin Aries fan. There were several times during this match I thought Aries was going down for the count and I screamed and beat up furniture accordingly. This match was spectacular. These two competitors fought hard and long.
Dayton, OH
Tag Team Championship Match
Davey Richards
&
Rocky Romero
No Remorse Corps
Vs.
Jay Briscoe
&
Mark Briscoe
The Briscoe Brothers
ROH Tag Team Champions
All four of these men know their wrestling and the members of the No Remorse Corps tend to bend the rules a bit in the ring. The match is fast paced and entertaining. The Briscoe Brothers continue to do things in the ring that amaze even new ROH watchers. They are a finely tuned tag team. Romero and Richards kept up their end of the match.
Winners
Jay & Mark Briscoe
The Briscoe Brothers
who retain the ROH Tag Team Titles
Time: 19 minutes
According to the Prazak, the Briscoe Brothers are 4/0 at ROH pay per views. This was typical of the matches ROH fans have come to expect from these four wrestlers. Again a long hard fought battle.
Back to Edison, NJ.
ROH World Championship Match
Nigel McGuinness from London, England, weighing 240 lbs.
Challenger
Vs.
Takeshi Morishima from Tokyo, Japan, weighing 149 kilos
ROH World Champion
The two do shake hands before the match begins. Morishima has been champion for a long time and McGuinness has beat him in the ring once before. The live audience seemed to be split with half for each competitor.
Winner
Nigel McGuinness
New ROH World Champion
Time: 14 minutes
Whether it was because of the great match between Austin Aries and Roderick Strong or the action in the other matches during this event, I was not as impressed with this title match as I thought I would be. It was a good match and these two opponents did work hard. After the match Morishima argued with the referee about the three count and then took the title belt in order to personally hand it to McGuinness. The two men shook hands in the middle of the ring and the audience voiced their approval of Takeshi Morishima as he exited the ring.
The locker room cleared and all those in the back entered the ring in order to congratulate Nigel McGuinness on his big win, Bryan Danielson was there to make sure Nigel knows he is still after that title belt.
I did miss seeing Claudio Castagnoli in action and the lack of someone in the locker room to take that mic away from Larry Sweeney.
All in all, this was a good series of matches and recommended watching for wrestling fans who prefer unique, energetic, and spectacular wrestling.
This Ring of Honor shows contains Undeniable talent.
DonâÂÂt miss it!
