Former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett is going by a new name on the independent scene, "Fake News Barrett." The former five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion went by "Bad News Barrett" during his time in WWE. The

The "Bad News" gimmick is of course is owned by WWE, but Barrett has been clever in using a topical subject to apply to his indy gimmick. 

WWE announced that Bennett had been released on May 6, 2016. Barrett has been on hiatus from wrestling in order to focus on his acting career, but said he would be "back in the ring when the time is right"
