January 11, 2017
--A video is shown from earlier in the day of NXT Women's Champion Asuka being attacked by Billie Kay and Peyton Royce as she arrived at Full Sail University.

--Billie Kay and Peyton Royce defeated Sarah Bridges (the former Crazy Mary Dobson) and Macey Estrella. Following the match, the duo call out NXT Women's Champion Asuka, who runs to the ring, only to be double-teamed by Kay and Royce. Nikki Cross then rushes to the the ring to make the save and gets a big pop from the crowd. Asuka tries going after Kay and Royce, but gets dropkicked by Cross off of the top rope. Cross then stands over Asuka before leaving the ring. Asuka becomes angry and tries fighting her way out of the grip of the referees.

--Elias Samson defeated Johnathan Cruz

--Andrade "Cien" Almas defeated Oney Lorcan

--NXT Tag Team Champions Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa defeated The Revival to retain the titles. Following the match, Gargano and Ciampa were attacked from behind by The Authors of Pain.

January 18, 2017
--Nikki Cross defeated Kennadi Brink

--Tye Dillinger comes to the ring and says that he isn't sure if he still belongs in NXT. Sanity then interrupts his promo, as Eric Young tells Dillinger that he needs to have the right friends before offering him Sawyer Fulton's jacket. Dillinger refuses, but Young still tries to reason with him. Young then tells Dillinger he's no longer asking him to take it. Dillinger then drops the jacket and does his "10" gesture in Young's face before a brawl ensues between the two. Dillinger is able to fight off Sanity before he is attacked by Big Damo, who makes his way into the ring from the crowd. Young then offers Damo the jacket and Damo accepts it. Sanity then poses over Dillinger before leaving the ring.

--Ember Moon defeated Liv Morgan. Both women shook hands before and after the match out of respect for one another.

January 25th, 2017
--NXT General Manager William Regal comes to the ring and announces that there will be a contract signing between NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Bobby Roode for their title match at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. He introduces the two men. Roode tells Nakamura that he's followed the champion's career throughout Japan and that's he's even been offered the chance to go there and face him over the years, but didn't feel that Nakamura was worth his time. Roode then brings up NXT TakeOver: Dallas and says that the one thing he remembers the most from that night is Nakamura's theme song from when he debuted, and that he even catches himself humming it when he's at home. Roode says that Nakamura may call himself "The King of Strong Style," but Nakamura has no style. Nakamura then says he knew that he and Roode would cross paths one day and says that Roode looks like a Shiba Inu. Roode then insults Japan, telling Nakamura that he's in the ring with the biggest star in the world, calling Nakamura a joke. He then says that in San Antonio, he will silence the NXT fans and take the NXT Championship away from Nakamura. Roode then signs the contract. Nakamura puts his hand in Roode's face and tells him that while he looks great and is one of the best, he won't be taking the NXT Championship. Nakamura then signs the contract and says that in San Antonio, he'll kick Roode's head off and it will be glorious. He then mocks Roode's pose.

--Aliyah defeated Mandy Rose

--No Way Jose defeated Kona Reeves. Following the match, Dasha Fuentes attempted to interview Jose, but was interrupted by Elias Samson performing a song. Jose then cuts him off and says he has a new song for him called "Just Drift Away," performed to the beat of Jose's theme song. Samson attempts to attack Jose, but Jose is able to fight him off.

--Eric Young defeated Chris Atkins. Following the match, Young begins screaming the word "choices" and proclaiming that Tye Dillinger made the wrong one, which will be proven at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio. Big Damo then hits Atkins with a running senton.

--TM-61 defeated The Revival in what was described as a quick match. After the match, The Revival hit Nick Miller with the Shatter Machine and Shane Thorne with a knee attack similar to the one that took out Big Cass in NXT a while back. Thorne is then escorted to the backstage area by officials and his knee is wrapped.

--Dasha Fuentes is in the ring with NXT General Manager William Regal, who announces that at NXT TakeOver: San Antonio, Asuka will defend the NXT Women's Championship against Billie Kay, Peyton Royce, and Nikki Cross in a Fatal 4 Way Match. He then says that, against his better judgment, he wants to hear from all four women who will be involved in the match, as they have assured him that nothing will break down. Kay and Royce are introduced first, and they tell Dasha that they can handle everything from here. They begin to talk trash about Asuka and Cross, saying that either Kay or Royce will leave San Antonio as NXT Women's Champion. Dasha then introduces Cross, then Asuka, who passes Cross and rushes Kay and Royce out of the ring. Asuka and Cross come face to face before Regal separates them. Kay and Royce attack the two from behind, but are then taken out themselves. Before Asuka and Cross are able to face each other, security rushes the ring; however, the two women are able to fight them off before Asuka lays out Cross with a spin kick. Asuka is pulled from the ring by security, but Cross dives over the top rope and takes everyone out. Kay and Royce look on horrified, while Regal looks on upset.

--NXT Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and Tajiri defeated Bobby Roode and Samoa Joe. After the match, as Nakamura is celebrating, Kassius Ohno's entrance music hits and Ohno makes his way to the ring wearing a suit. He begins to take his jacket off, but instead elbows the NXT Championship draped over Nakamura's shoulder before leaving.
