The real-life tale of Nikolai Volkoff will be told, but only if the biography gets it's funding goal. You may remember him from his days teaming up with The Iron Sheik, He played an evil Russian character and become the World Tag Team Champions with Iron Sheik. Also, you may remember the times he was with Captain Lou Albano.

THE COMIC

NIKOLAI is the authorized comic biography of Croatian wrestling legend, Nikolai Volkoff, 2005 WWE Hall of Famer, former WWF Tag Team Champion, and former partner of the Iron Sheik! Along with Bruno Sammartino, Nikolai was the first professional wrestler to sell out Madison Square Garden. Written by John Crowther (Antarctic Press' Rochelle), this story of Nikolai's life is based on in-depth interviews and intimate conversations between the writer and the wrestler.

Learn the real story of Nikolai before he assumed the surname Volkoff for the sake of sports entertainment. Discover his true relationship with the Soviet Bloc and the sacrifices required of him to escape to stardom in the West. And get it all from his own recounting of his life story, via the visual medium of comics.

THE PROJECT

NIKOLAI will be told over the course of three single-issue comics in 7.5" x 9.25" format, this 23-page installment being the first of those. In addition to being authored by John Crowther, the story is lushly illustrated by comics and animation legend, Dell Barras (Storyboard artist on Transformers: The Movie and the Transformers & G.I. Joe cartoon series, as well as many other animated series, including many Marvel series, Captain Planet, & The Pirates of Darkwater!). Colors are provided by newcomer, Andrew Pate.
