At Sunday night's WWE Battleground event, SmackDown Live's Dean Ambrose defeated Raw's Seth Rollins and the returning Roman Reigns in the show's main event in a Triple Threat Match to retain the WWE Championship.

As a result, the WWE Championship will now be heading to SmackDown Live. No formal announcement has been made regarding whether or not Raw will have its own heavyweight championship; however, this is something that has been rumored for some time.
