Shane McMahon announced at the conclusion of Monday night's edition of WWE Raw that Dean Ambrose will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against both Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a Triple Threat Match at the upcoming Battleground event.

The match was made after both Rollins and Reigns were counted out of the ring during their Raw main event match to determine who the number-one contender would be.
