Backstage News on WWE Women's Championship Booking Plans

Posted By: Caylon Knox on Apr 14, 2016

According to a new report from The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE fan-favorite Sasha Banks was originally penciled in to leave WrestleMania 32 as the new WWE Women's Champion until the decision was made to have a Triple Threat Match with Becky Lynch instead of just Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair in a one-on-one match.

For right now, former WWE Divas Champion Natalya Neidhart will be booked as a top contender to Charlotte Flair's Women's Championship, although there's no word on whether Natalya is being considered for a run with the Women's Title.

As for Sasha Banks, look for her to challenge for the Women's Championship at this year's SummerSlam, most likely against Charlotte unless things change between now and SummerSlam.
