Lucha Underground Producer Disputes Demise Reports

Lucha Underground producer Eric Van Wagenen has responded to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer that the company is losing slightly less money than half of what TNA lost after 10 years in business, suggesting this does not bode well for their future unless raise more capital and/or sign more deals for a fourth season of the show.

Wegenen tweeted:

"The rumors of @LuchaElRey's demise have been greatly exaggerated. Perhaps check with a real source instead of the same old disgruntled one?. The network gives us a seasonal production budget and we produce the show for exactly that, not a penny more.Thats how TV works"

Jay Lethal On Daniel Bryan's Retirement

Ric Flair recently interviewed former ROH world champion Jay Lethal for his WOOOOO! Nation Podcast. Lethal made comment on those suggesting Bryan had to retire because of all the injuries he sustained in ROH:

“I wouldn’t say it’s Ring Of Honor. Daniel Bryan did many tours of Japan. He wrestled any and everywhere. As a wrestler, we wrestle any and everywhere we can and we put our bodies through everything, just to reach that pinnacle point, which, for most wrestlers, is the WWE. No, I would not say it was from Ring Of Honor. I would say it was from honing his craft to get to WWE is what did that.”
