Wade Barrett has given his notice to WWE recently and will not be signing a new contract with the company when it expires in June. Barrett is believed to be unhappy with his current role in the company.

Barrett has been plagued by a number of injuries throughout his WWE career which, in some people's eyes is why he never got a major push, his latest was a nerve injury in his neck was one of the reasons he was added to the League of Nations stable so he could have a reduced in-ring schedule while he recovers.

Barrett's last significant win was the 2015 King of the Ring tournament in which he assumed the "King" Barrett role. WWE has often been criticized for dropping the ball with the gimmick with many fans calling for a return to his "Bad News" gimmick which was cut short.
